Important: what this is not

Offshore status codes from public feeds do not prove a trap, seal, reservoir quality, or commercial hydrocarbons. Water depth is estimated from basin heuristics, not real-time bathymetry. A positive screening is a signal to acquire 2D/3D seismic, run logs and cores, and have a licensed petroleum geologist or engineer review the prospect before committing tens of millions of dollars to a well. Retsil does not guarantee production or prevent a dry hole.
